Carbotech
produces some of the highest performing brake pads in the world directly from
their research and manufacturing plant in Concord, NC, the racing headquarters
of the USA. Carbotech Performance Brakes utilize true race compounds that are
"rotor friendly," eliminating the grabbing and locking up that keep
so many drivers and race cars from performing at their peak. You want to go
deep to gain those precious fractions of a second before you need to brake, and
Carbotech brakes let you do just that. In every turn, all race long.
Designed
by racers for racers, Carbotech brakes can be specified to meet the needs of
your car and driving style. Ggive us a call and we can recommend the compounds
that will be perfect for your front and rear pads and shoes, assuring that they
perform together with optimum effectiveness.
As
you go up in number (XP8..10.. etc) pad bite and torque will increase along
with pad and rotor wear. The operating temperature range will increase as
stated in the descriptions. Carbotech pads are relatively easy on rotors and if
you are using your street car for track/driving schools, Carbotechs also
produce a mostly non-corrosive dust for easy wheel and paint cleaning.
Carbotech XP8™:
Very
versatile pad option. A high torque brake compound with a wide operating
temperature range (200°F-1350°F+)
with great cold bite. Outstanding initial bite at race temperatures, high
coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics.
Extremely high fade resistance, very rotor friendly with 100% non-corrosive
dust. Excellent as a front brake pad for lighter ITA, ITB, ITC, and other cars
that weigh less than 2,400lbs. Perfect for novice, intermediate, and advanced
track day (HPDE) use with any tire, and can still be driven safely to and from
the track. Some customers will use this as a street and track pad with a slight
increase of noise and dust over the OE pad.

Our
sales associates will try to ensure accuracy of the products ordered based on
the year and model provided by the customer. The ultimate responsibility still
falls onto the customer to select the correct parts and type the current year
and model in the specified blank. The year and model (ex."1998 328i")
of your BMW can be found with the VIN number in the driver’s door jam. If there
is any confusion in the listing please contact one of our sales representatives
for clarification.
Due
to dimensional differences in pad shapes we do not suggest Carbotech
performance pads with Performance Friction Direct Drive rotors for any
application.
