Description

What are the benefits of the HANS Adjustable?

  • A driver will get the same patented, award-winning HANS performance plus additional comfort. The Adjustable can be adapted more precisely to the torso in 5-degree increments. If a 15-degree or 25-degree angle is needed, a driver is no longer locked into the standard angles.
  • The HANS Adjustable can be used in different types of cars by one driver. IF a driver races a stock and a sprint car, for example, the same device can be adjusted to fit either seat.
  • The lower, rounded collar continues the effort to make fitting, access and egress easier for HANS users.
  • A Special DuPont Zytel polymer coating makes the HANS Adjustable extremely fire-resistant.

Are competitors in all series eligible to use the HANS Adjustable?

  • The HANS Adjustable is approved under the SFI Foundation's Spec 38.1 for head and neck restraints and eligible in series recognizing this specification such as the NHRA and SCCA -- or any series where a head and neck restraint is recommended but not required such as USAC.
  • NASCAR approval has not yet been granted, meaning NASCAR competitors are not yet eligible to use the HANS Adjustable.
  • The FIA has the HANS Adjustable under final review following successful lab testing, but has not yet issued approval for competitors. Drivers in series listed on the FIA International Sporting Calendar-- IndyCar, IMSA, etc. -- will become eligible once the FIA grants final approval.

What is the range of collar angle adjustment?

  • The device adjusts in 5-degree increments from 10 to 40 degrees.

How much does the HANS Adjustable weigh?

  • It weighs 970 grams. This is heavier than the Sport II (770 grams), and lighter than the original Sport (1110 grams)

Helmet Certification

Snell SAH2010 helmets have a threaded insert (nutwasher) bonded directly inside the helmet shell. Anchors for these helmets are offered without nutwashers. These anchors use an indexing collar instead of a post and include a tool to orient or index the anchor from the outside of the helmet shell. Snell SA helmets use a standard anchor kit with nutwashers.

All devices are SFI labeled, for FIA devices please call or e-mail.
